PINE BROOK, N.J., December 14, 2010 – Blue Diamond Solutions (BDS), a Cloud-based Hosted Solution Provider and IT/Telecom/Wireless Consultant, is pleased to announce that Bill Crank, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Blue Diamond Solutions and Steve Johannesman, has been appointed Vice President of Engineering.
The addition of these experienced business leaders emphasizes Blue Diamond’s commitment to drive growth, build new revenue streams and partnerships, while establishing Blue Diamond as a leader in the cloud based hosting market.
Bill Crank has been on the Board of Directors of Blue Diamond Solutions for four years and has been providing strong leadership and direction to the Blue Diamond Senior Management team during that time.

Crank brings over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and high-tech industries to his role as CEO of Blue Diamond Solutions where he will focus on driving profitable growth, adjacent market strategies, operations, and execution of the corporate strategy. Prior to joining Blue Diamond, Crank has been in executive management roles in a number of cutting edge technology companies that have provided solutions for many of the largest wireless, wireline, cable, enterprise companies on a global basis. The solution base has encompassed products and services in software, optical, wireless, application development, convergence, and system integration. As Vice President of Sales for Ubiquity Software, he provided that sales leadership and partner strategy to help the company to an IPO on the London AIM in May of 2005, and eventual $150 Million acquisition by Avaya in February of 2007. After Ubiquity, Crank was asked to be President of NCI where he drove a significant strategy change to broaden the platform, partners, and customer base that led to the eventual acquisition by Broadview Networks in July of 2009.
Steve Johannesman noted, “I am pleased to have recently joined the Blue Diamond team. Johannesman brings over 20 years of experience in helping customers design and implement leading technology solutions to meet their critical business needs to his role as VP of Engineering at Blue Diamond Solutions This includes solutions in the telecommunications and high tech industries with some of the largest service providers and enterprises globally. As VP of Engineering for Blue Diamond, Johannesman will drive the technology strategy, pre-sales, and post-sales support teams. Prior to joining Blue Diamond, Johannesman was an Engineering Executive at ThruPoint driving the presales team within the Next Generation Intelligent Communications (NGIC) group. The NGIC group provided turnkey consulting services, middleware software, and software application products to the Service Provider and Large Enterprise Markets. Before Thrupoint, Johannesman held a number of Senior Engineering and Product Management roles with increasing responsibility at; Avaya as part of their acquisition of Ubiquity Software Corporation where he was responsible for adoption of the Ubiquity SIP Application Server at both companies, Jetstream Communications the leading voice-over-packet technology for telecommunications carriers, and as a Product Manager at Ascend Communications prior to Lucent’s acquisition of Ascend, where he stayed on as Product Manager of the NavisAccess Software Suite.
